Journalist Justin McElroy reveals secret of songs from Disney cartoons

The general method of songwriting for the Disney film studio cartoons was identified by Canadian broadcasting corporation CBC journalist Justin McElroy. He wrote about it in his microblog on Twitter. The journalist reported that he revealed patterns not only in the texts and sound of songs to cartoons, but also their general peculiarities of their application in paintings. Among all the films he studied, he highlighted 18 templates for musical compositions. For example, the song should repeat the title of the film several times, the negative character mainly enters with his song only after performing the compositions of the main positive characters. Films should also contain songs about life wisdom or an episode with a composition that a secondary character encourages to commit any actions of the protagonist. McElroy, based on the results of his research, published several notes with videos containing cuts from cartoons proving his theory. He also published an expanded table in which he structured all the features of 18 templates.
