Iranian president compares US sanctions to coronavirus

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the effect of U.S. sanctions is similar to coronavirus, on the one hand, they inspire horror, and on the other, they have no real impact on the situation. Rouhani added that the imposition of American sanctions was a terrorist act and expressed hope that the European Union would be able to fulfil its humanitarian duty in that direction. According to the news agency, earlier on February 20, Washington decided to impose new unilateral sanctions on Tehran. Five individuals have been added to the U.S. sanctions list of the Ministry of Finance, including Ahmad Jannati, Chairman of the Iranian Constitution Guard Council.
