Former Swedish ambassador to China commented on acquittal

On July 10, the Stockholm District Court acquitted Anna Lindstedt, the former Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Sweden to the People's Republic of China. She was accused of endangering Sweden's national security. The ex-diplomat herself is in a high mood and is looking forward to returning to his usual life. This was reported on July 10 by the newspaper Expressen. Earlier, Anna Lindstedt was accused of violating national security due to events that occurred while she was the ambassador of China. According to the prosecution, as the current ambassador to China, Lindstedt organized several meetings with two Chinese businessmen and Angela Guy, the daughter of Guy Minhai, who is in prison in China. Thus, representatives of the prosecutor's office insisted that Lindstedt was negotiating on behalf of the Swedish state on the release of Guy Minhai without direct instruction from the Swedish government. However, the Stockholm District Court found that the prosecutor's office could not prove that she had negotiated in her diplomatic status with anyone who could represent the interests of the Chinese state. I am happy and happy about this acquittal. Now I will try to return to my normal life. As a Swedish diplomat, you must do everything possible to try to free the detained citizen, commented on Lindstedt's sentence.
