No discrimination in Indonesia - Vahid Supriyadi
Indonesia's ambassador to Russia, Mohamed Wahid Supriyadi, commented in an interview with the news agency on protests that broke out in 2019 in the Indonesian provinces of Papua and West Papua. A number of publications were published on social media that were not true, but were perceived by local residents as some kind of discrimination, which caused protests in the provinces of Papua and West Papua, explained Wahid Supriyadi. The Indonesian Ambassador to Russia also stressed that there is no discrimination against Papua residents who hold high public office in Indonesia. Recall, in August 2019 in many settlements of Papua there were demonstrations, some of which turned into riots and clashes with the police. The riots began in response to racist incidents against Papuan students in Surabaya, Indonesia's second largest city on the island of Java. The action then resumed with demands for a referendum on Papua's independence. Read also the full interview: The new truth about Indonesia's attitude towards Russia
