NASA offered Boeing to check its software better due to problems with Starliner

NASA recommended that Boeing change the procedure for checking its software due to problems with Starliner launch in December. This is reported on February 6 by the Internet portal Space News. According to the portal, during the meeting held by NASA members on flight safety issues, another serious problem in Starliner software was discussed, which was corrected during the flight. It is noted that it has not previously been reported. According to the participants, NASA recommended that Boeing review its software verification procedures to prevent similar incidents in the future. According to the news agency, Boeing and the American aerospace agency NASA will create a joint team to investigate the incident during the first test flight of the Starliner ship. The established team will have to identify the causes of the failure of the on-board computer software that led to the cancellation of the docking operation with the International Space Station (ISS). The investigation will last about two months. Recall, the first launch of the Starliner spacecraft, developed by Boeing specialists to deliver astronauts on board the ISS, took place on December 20, 2019 with the help of the Atlas V launch vehicle. The test flight program included docking the ship with the ISS, but this operation was cancelled due to a failure of the on-board computer. Starliner was placed in abnormal Earth orbit, and the ship returned to Earth on 22 December, landing at NASA in New Mexico. Read also: Boeing presented preliminary results of Starliner ship test
